Three Useful Bounds in Quantum Mechanics — Easily Obtained by Wiener Integration
In a reasonably self-contained and explicit presentation we illustrate the efficiency of the Feynman–Kac formula for the rigorous derivation of three inequalities of interest in non-relativistic quantum mechanics.

The purpose of this article is to present a short review of local conformal symmetry in curved 4d space-time. Furthermore we discuss the conformal anomaly and anomaly-induced effective actions. Despite the conformal symmetry is always broken at quantum level, it may be a basis of useful and interesting approximations for investigating quantum corrections.

We investigate three–flavour chiral perturbation theory including virtual photons in a limit where the strange quark mass is much larger than the external momenta and the up and down quark masses, and where the external fields are those of two–flavour chiral perturbation theory. In particular we work out the strange quark mass dependence of the electromagnetic two–flavour low–energy constants C...

We consider an alternative approach to the foundations of statistical mechanics, in which subjective randomness, ensemble-averaging or time-averaging are not required. Instead, the universe (i.e. the system together with a sufficiently large environment) is in a quantum pure state subject to a global constraint, and thermalisation results from entanglement between system and environment. We for...

The bosonic IIB matrix model, which contains the bosonic part of the IIB matrix model conjectured to be a non-perturbative definition of the type IIB superstring theory, is studied using a numerical method. The large N scaling behavior of the model is shown performing a Monte Carlo simulation. The expectation value of the Wilson loop operator is measured and the string tension is estimated. Fro...
